Chinese New Year Painting 2021

Creative Mix Media Art - 4 to 8 years old

Duration: 3 sessions at 1 hour 30 minute per session

Period: From the week of 20th January 2021 until the week of 3rd February 2021.

Classes run physically-in-class and online as well.


Learning points:

  • Writing Chinese New Year idioms in mandarin

  • Planning and layout of art and words

  • Drawing and painting cute animals


Chinese New Year is around the corner and there are so many fun things to do – shopping at the market for fresh pussy willow plant, baking New Year goodies with the family, receiving red packets, and best of all…watching the spectacular New Year’s celebration in Chinatown!


By tradition, Chinese families love to paste couplets on their walls or door panels when celebrating the coming of this Spring Festival. The couplets are generally written on red paper and the sentences contain auspicious meanings.


Our little artists in Creative Mix Media Art shall be led to write Chinese auspicous and meaningful idioms and with their creation of aborable little animals, we shall usher in this Chinese New Year, the year of the Ox, with huge blessings where everyone will grow strong and healthy, be blessed with lots of love and laughter always and excel in your dreams!


年又称过年，即春节，是华人一年之中最重要最隆重的传统节日。每逢过年，大人们就忙碌着打扫庭院，添置新衣，到市场上购买柳枝做为迎接新春的植物，到超市选购过年的团圆饭食材，烘烤饼干和甜点…


而对于孩子们而言，最开心的事莫过于过年，按照传统习俗，华人家庭喜欢在庆祝这个春节的到来时在他们的墙壁或门板上贴上对联。对联通常写在红纸上，句子含有吉祥的意义。意言社即将带领我们的小艺术家决定为新年添加上自己的过年方式，用笔墨描绘一幅自己创造的对联，绘制可爱的小动物并配合有意义的谚语来迎接新年的运气和繁荣！祝大家新年快乐！身心健康！恭喜发财！牛年大吉！吉星高照！也祝我们的小画家们快高长大，笑口常开！学业进步！

Summary of Updates and Changes in 2020 and Going Forth

Dear Parents/Guardians/Students,


On behalf of all Teachers of Artistori, I want to send a big big Thank You for believing and supporting us!


Altogether, it has been 7 years since Artistori began with many who are still with us, growing and nurturing well, and your presence is heart-felt like a family, the Artistori Family.


So far, our works that were sent overseas for international art contests have had awards received and locally, we have many young artists who are successful in their admission to Ngee Ann Polytechnic, School of The Arts (SOTA) and other secondary schools with portfolios built in Artistori.


We constantly seek to improve and do better, with strong belief that art education is beneficial for everyone including adults. Even if art is not part of your academic aim, art improves any individual’s perspective, character, and well-being.


Before we enter 2021, I would like to highlight the summary of updates and changes that happened in 2020 and announce the new initiatives that will be going forth.

Winterland Fireworks

Upcoming Creative Mix Media Art Project

Suits kids 4 years old to 8 years old

Duration: 4 sessions at 1 hour 30 minute per session

Period: From the week of 23rd December 2020 until the week of 13th January 2021.

Classes run physically-in-class and online as well.


Do you miss the beautiful time in the snow during the past winter vacation? Are you looking forward to fireworks bursting in the sky?


In this upcoming project, Artistori will lead our Creative Mix Media Art little artists to create an art piece of amazing fireworks in a winter village courtyard with their imagination and personal experiences.


In this project, our little artists will learn how to paint snow scenes with acrylic paint and combine it with soft pastels to create a gorgeous scene of fireworks!


Look forward to a very good new 2021 year with this painting hang up at home!

  • 1 B3 size kraft paper

  • 1 set of Acrylic paint, preferably 12 colours

  • Brushes: Flat and small round tip brushes

  • 1 palette

  • 1 set of soft pastels, preferably 12 colours

  • 1 set of permanent oil-based colour markers, preferably 12 colours

  • 1 used dish washing sponge (dried)

We provide these recommended required materials for a set at $79.90.

Additional $5 for delivery to your doorstep in Singapore.
