Your Story, Your Art

Dear readers, please share their works out to your friends, colleagues and family members via social media.

Our young artists, age 12 years old to 15 year old, successfully created their own ocarina taking up 9 sessions. The process taught them pottery throwing, ceramic handbuilding and best of all, how to create a musical instrument. The Ocarina can be referred to as a wind pipe instrument. The creation of a wind pipe instrument can be easily invented with any cylindrical object. The biggest challenge will be where the flipple should be located, the size of the flipple and how steep the flipple should be carved, wind inlet and outlet. We threw this challenges to our Creative Visual Art young artists and we let their own inspiration take shape. Some produced low pitches while there were a few who just had it made with the best pitch!

This project is about creativity and experimentation using basic pottery and ceramic skillsets. Artistori values their creation process and journey and no matter the outcome, they all did great because of their perseverance in their own ocarina designs and ideas!

Once again, please show your support by sharing their works out to your friends, colleagues and family members via social media.

Thank you!

Yours Sincerely,

Vernon Chen
