Mother & Child Bond - A Tribute to Motherhood

This Mother’s Day, we invite Fine Art & Public Speaking junior artists to take part in a meaningful and imaginative 4-lesson art curriculum project that explores the universal theme of motherhood and love — not only in our families, but beautifully reflected in nature.


This inquiry-based art project uses the powerful metaphor of animals to help children understand and appreciate how love, care, and nurturing can be seen all around us — in the way a mother elephant protects her calf, how a bird feeds her chicks, or how lionesses raise their young together.


Through thought-provoking discussions and observations, students will be guided to:

• Identify and choose an animal that best reflects their perspective of the essence of motherhood

• Reflect on how love is shown in different forms and relationships

• Express their appreciation for their own mothers, grandmothers, and aunties through the lens of nature


Students will learn and apply fine art techniques using graphite pencils, soft pastels, and oil pastels to create expressive, emotive animal-themed artworks. The project will culminate in a heartfelt public speaking session where each child will present their artwork and share their message of love and gratitude — giving voice to their art in the most personal way.
