Next Art Foundation Project - Suits 8 years old to 11 years old

Duration: 7 sessions at 2 hours per session

Period: From the week of 2nd Dec 2020 until the week of 13th Jan 2021

Palette Knives are primarily used for mixing paint colours and mediums on the palette, usually oil and acrylic paint. The use of knives on painting can be traced back to the 14th and 15th century when famous artists used knives on their masterpieces. The challenge faced by our junior artists in Art Foundation is the concept of knives on painting.

Many think that painting is just using brushes to paint and blend a thin layer. When Artistori showed them the beauty of knives and impasto thick paint onto the canvas, they were intrigue to find that multiple colors spread on can be so amazingly beautiful.

Posture and gesture of holding the knives was a hugh challenge for them. Most of them get comfortable sitted on a chair to paint. Whereas for painting with knives on a canvas, they learnt that it's pretty impossible for them to get comfortable. They needed to stand and twist and turn their wrist in order to get it right.

With all these, they are accomplished with an amazing floral painting to be brought home to display on the wall!
